COLONIAL TRADES -4th grade

Your job is to research a colonial job (trade or occupation) using a book and at least one other resource. The other resources can be found on the media wiki for fourth grade and using at least one of the trade links on the wiki.
Please keep track of your sources on your notecards. Where did you get the information? This information is used to create your bibliography

You must answer the following questions.

What is the name of the trade you are researching?
Please explain in complete sentences what this job is and how it helped the colony at the time.
Is this job or trade still a job or occupation today? Explain yes or no and why it is or is not a job being done today. Is it being done another way today?

Your job is to create a “Help Wanted” advertisement for the local Gazette that would be created by a master craftsperson from back in the day. You may organize your notes into to three categories: the trade a person is wanted for, what the job involves, and the skills required of all applicants. Pupils work in pairs to create the actual ads, and then present the job opening to the class.
