WebQuest for 3rd Grade



Introduction:
Welcome children to an exciting Webquest where you will have your first country researching experience. You will have the opportunity to research a country with partners that have been selected especially for you. You will be creating your own country travel brochure.
You must be able to answer the following question.

Why would you want to visit this country?
You should convince your reader to visit your country. You will give examples of why it is a fun to visit this country.
This project will take many weeks to complete, so relax, have fun, learn a lot, and enjoy your first researching experience. It will be wonderful!

The Task:
You will be typing your information using Microsoft Office 10 which will be copied into a brochure using Microsoft Publishing. You will be creating a bibliography, finding your country’s flag and so much more. We will have an amazing time with this project. It will be a blast!

Process:
You will be working with your partners to prepare and present your brochure to the class. You will be choosing your own 3-5 topics to research, as well as choosing your own font, font color , font size and any graphics you may want to include.
1. You must create a brochure cover. Your names must appear on the cover as well as your country's flag. How you create this cover is entirely up to you and your partners.
2. Your report must include at least 3 topics. Topics can include climate, geography, topography, culture, religion, food and population.
3. Each paragraph must have an underlined title that is centered above each paragraph.
4. You and your partner (s)will create a color brochure which will include beautiful graphics of your choice.
5. Each group must also find a country flag that is copied and pasted to your brochure.
6. A bibliography of all sources used must be included in your brochure. Each country must use a minimum of 3 sources.

Resources:
In order to create your travel brochure you will learn how to find information from books, KidsInfobits, online encyclopedias, reference books and the internet. Some internet websites are listed below. I'm sure that you will have fun finding many more.

Conclusion:
To celebrate this project's completion we will have a World Expo. On this special day and we will invite your parents in to view your magnificent work. We will also have each country group bring in one food for everyone to taste. What fun we will have!
